The woodcock is a very discreet and especially nocturnal migratory bird species. It is known to be light-fleeing. The woodcock is one of the birds to have excellent vision, including at night. It can see 360°. Hunting woodcock in Morocco is a privilege, at River Camp we offer it to you.

Being the species that par excellence constitutes the basis of Moroccan hunting, the partridge is known to be a species found both in agricultural plains, oases and forests. It is most appreciated by hunters when it is of the "Gambra" type. Its hunting period runs from October to December. At River Camp, you will certainly enjoy hunting.

Tending to be increasingly rare in Morocco, hares are mainly found in mountainous areas as well as forest massifs. As is the case at River Camp, the hare finds its ideal biotope in cultivated and meadow regions as well as in small wooded areas. Known to be a loner, the hare is an animal that prefers to go out at night rather than during the day.

The wild boar is the only species of large fauna that has the status in Morocco of big game. The latter is mainly found in forests with high density. It is distributed in Morocco from the Rif to the Anti-Atlas. It is mainly nocturnal and becomes active at dusk. Old males are called "solitaires" unlike others who live in herds. The hunting season starts in October and ends in February. At River Camp, hunting is done in driven hunts from watchtowers.

The quail is a small migratory bird (approximately 15 cm in length) of the subfamily Perdicinae. It looks a lot like the partridge, although smaller. It feeds on seeds on the ground, insects and sometimes small prey. Very good game for hunting with a pointing dog, because it freezes instead of running.

The pheasant is a renowned game. It has beautiful chestnut-colored plumage, with golden brown and black markings. It lives in agricultural areas, open areas with bushy cover, forest edges and open forests. Even though it is a farmed game, the pheasant can fly quickly and surprise the hunter.
